WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:

SHEETS: 1 King Set, 2 Queen Sets, 2 Full Sets, 2 Single Sets
BATH TOWELS: I can provide sheets and towels for an additional cost.
Please ask me when you call to make your reservation.

VCR or DVD PLAYER: Movies are available at the Island General Store on the island.

SUPPLIED ITEMS:

Dishes, bowls, pots & pans, silverware, casserole dishes, electric drip coffee pot, microwave, television, crock pot, toaster, blender, backyard grill, blankets, deck furniture, tree house, sand box and fans. Two bedrooms are air-conditioned. There is a fire pit for bon fires in the back yard. The cottage also has a washer and dryer.

ISLAND TRIVIA:
  • No liquor store. The Island Beverage Center carries low proof alcohol, beer and wine. There is also the Park Drive-Thru adjacent to the Boathouse Bar & Grill that has carry-out items including wine and beer.
  • Beer at the island stores costs the same as on the mainland.
  • Soda Pop is more expensive. You might want to pick up soft drinks before you leave home.
  • Island General has wonderful meat selection and they cut their own meats (steaks, ground chuck, pork chops, etc.) but there is limited selection of fresh fruits and vegetables - most everything else can be found at the store (slightly higher priced than the mainland).
  • No doctor on the island but we do have full time paramedics. The
island also has the services of Life Flight out of Toledo St. Vincent's Hospital.
  • Our favorite restaurants are: The Boardwalk (for seafood lovers), The Crescent (Wednesday Night Prime Rib Buffet and Sunday Night Pasta Buffet), Mossbacks and The Skyway (nightly specials in addition to the regular menu). Skyway is open year-round.
  • Gas Station, Post Office and Hardware store are located together on Langram Road near Toledo Avenue. Two vehicle services -- on as gas station, the other just down and across the road from the cottage at South Shore Service.
  • Beer Barrel has nightly entertainment which changes weekly.
  • Beer Barrel features the famous Pat Dailey on some weekends.
  • Cedar Point is approximately 15 miles away. Cedar Point is not accessible by a ferry from Put-in-Bay. You will have to return to the mainland and drive to Sandusky where the amusement park is located.
  • If you are leaving a car parked on the mainland, allow enough time to find all the free parking areas. There is no need to pay $5.00 per day for parking. My husband has been commuting to the Island every weekend for the past 25 years and has never paid to park his car!!
  • During the summer season, Miller Ferry at Catawba Point (Rte. 53) runs every 1/2 hour. Check ferry schedule for Spring and Fall times. On the very busy weekends (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day) it may be necessary to show proof of lodging in order to bring your car on the ferry!

    VERY IMPORTANT

Trash should be placed in the container for Monday pick-up. Be wary of the Raccoons!! Fishermen: you can place properly wrapped fish offal in the trash container for pick-up.
